Isro plans 50 AI-based surveillance satellites

IndiaTimes Friday, 29 December 2023
India's space agency plans to develop a fleet of 50 AI-based surveillance satellites in five years. These satellites will gather geo-intelligence and enhance border surveillance. The current satellite fleet of 54 is deemed insufficient for India's aspirations. The upgraded satellites will have improved detection capabilities, utilize AI and data-driven approaches, and interact with each other to gather 24x7 intelligence data. Launching satellites across different orbits will enable critical assessment using various technologies.
