GPS anklets for J&K terror suspect on bail

IndiaTimes Sunday, 31 December 2023
J&K Police have put a GPS anklet on a terror case suspect to monitor his movements while he is out on interim bail. This is the second recent instance of such devices being used. The anklet was fitted Saturday on Khursheed Ahmed in Udhampur district on the orders of a Jammu NIA court four days ago. Ahmed is native of Doda district in Jammu and was arrested last year. J&K Police claimed it became the first force in the country to use such GPS anklets for UAPA suspects on bail.
