IndiaTimes Monday, 1 January 2024
India has detected 196 cases of the Covid-19 sub-variant JN.1, with Odisha being the latest state to report its presence. The JN.1 sub-variant has been found in 10 states and Union territories, including Kerala, Goa, and Gujarat. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has classified JN.1 as a separate "variant of interest" due to its rapidly-increasing spread. Previously classified as part of the BA.2.86 sub-lineages, JN.1 cases have been reported globally. The Centre has urged states to remain vigilant amidst the rise in Covid cases and the presence of JN.1.

Cure or Threat? Wuhan Lab's New Intranasal Vaccine Sparks Fears of Another Covid-like Crisis

A new intranasal vaccine developed by researchers at the Wuhan lab has recently been unveiled, promising a novel approach to combating infectious diseases. However, this breakthrough has also sparked significant controversy and concern. While the vaccine’s potential to offer a more accessible and efficient method of vaccination is hailed as a major advancement, its origins and the circumstances surrounding its development are raising alarms about a possible new health crisis.
