New national cooperation policy to come up this month
Monday, 1 January 2024 India will introduce a new national cooperation policy this month to strengthen the cooperative movement at the grassroots level. The policy aims to promote cooperative-based economic development through a legal and institutional framework. It will focus on creating vibrant economic entities, modernizing them with technology, expanding into export markets, and providing a level-playing field through incentives and capital infusion. The policy may propose the establishment of a National Cooperative Tribunal and a National Board for Cooperatives, as well as a National Cooperative Bank of India.
