Congress MP Karti P Chidambaram appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning in connection with an alleged money laundering case linked to the issuance of Chinese visas. Karti referred to the questioning as a 'futile exercise' and stated that it was a routine drill with the upcoming Lok Sabha elections approaching. He had previously appeared before the ED in December last year. The case involves Karti allegedly receiving Rs 50 lakh to facilitate visas for 263 Chinese nationals for a power project in Punjab. The CBI has also booked four other individuals in the case.
