Congress collects Rs 10.15 crores donation amount under the 'Donate for Desh' campaign

The Congress party's crowdfunding campaign 'Donate for Desh' has collected Rs 10.15 crores in donations with the maximum donations coming from Telangana and Haryana. The campaign, inspired by the 'Tilak Swaraj Fund' started in 1920, aims to empower the party for equal resource distribution and opportunities in India. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge launched the campaign ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Kharge highlighted that this was the first time Congress was asking for public donations and drew parallels to Mahatma Gandhi's practice of taking donations during the freedom struggle.
