India records 602 fresh Covid cases, 5 deaths in 24 hours; 511 cases of JN.1 reported till Tuesday

ndia has reported 602 fresh cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours, Union health ministry data updated on Wednesday showed. The Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), under the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has reported five deaths due to Covid in 24 hours in India. A total of 511 cases of the JN.1 variant have been reported from 11 states till January 2. The active caseload declined to 4,440, with a drop of 125 since Tuesday, health ministry data showed.
