Elgar Parishad case: SC extends stay imposed by Bombay HC on order granting bail to Navlakha

IndiaTimes Friday, 5 January 2024
The Supreme Court extended the stay on the bail granted to Gautam Navlakha in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist links case. The court also directed the Registry to present the NIA's plea to the Chief Justice of India. The court refrained from commenting on the case's merits. Navlakha, who was arrested in 2018, is currently under house arrest in Navi Mumbai. The case involves alleged inflammatory speeches made at the Elgar Parishad conclave, leading to violence near the Koregaon-Bhima war memorial.
