Nashik terror plot accused gets bail; to remain in jail for German Bakery blast

IndiaTimes Friday, 5 January 2024
Bombay High Court grants bail to Mirza Himayat Baig in the 2010 Nashik terror plot case foiled by ATS. Baig will remain in Nashik Central Prison serving life imprisonment in the German Bakery blast case. ATS alleged Baig as the main conspirator for the Nashik police headquarters blast. Baig's advocates argue lack of material witnesses and evidence. The court directs Baig's release on bail and he awaits the Supreme Court's decision on his appeal against the German Bakery blast case conviction.
