If committed to justice, arrest Sandeshkhali attackers: Calcutta HC

IndiaTimes Monday, 15 January 2024
Calcutta High Court urged the arrest of those accused of the Sandeshkhali attack for justice to be served. Prime accused Sheikh Shahjahan, who has been in hiding, also appealed to the court. The court questioned why the investigation was still in the hands of the Nazat Police and why certain charges were not included in the FIR. “Arrest the accused if you want to do justice,” Justice Jay Sengupta said to Kishore Datta while hearing a petition by ED.
