West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee criticized BJP for spreading lies about Sandeshkhali and called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to stop shedding crocodile tears. She accused the Election Commission of being influenced by the Modi government and ignoring certain advertisements featuring Modi's photo. Banerjee also mentioned considering approaching the Election Commission regarding the matter.
