Delhi Airport's runway 29L is CAT III again; hope to have 28/10 back soon: Aviation minister Scindia
Tuesday, 16 January 2024
In a positive development for low visibility landings at Delhi Airport, both ends of its sole CAT III runway have once again achieved CAT III compliance. Last week, the 29L end of the runway was downgraded to CAT I due to interference caused by large cranes on the Dwarka Expressway affecting the localizer signals necessary for the CAT III instrument landing system (ILS). Delhi Airport's Runway 29L has been reinstated as CAT III operational today (Jan 16), announced Union Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
