'Enhance food safety protocols,' flight caterers told

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 17 January 2024
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has directed flight caterers to enhance existing food safety protocols after an IndiGo passenger was recently sold a sandwich that allegedly had a worm wriggling in it. FSSAI held a meeting with all major flight caterers on Tuesday to "evaluate" existing safety protocols, with the objective to identify areas requiring improvement and to reinforce the commitment to providing passengers with safe and high-quality inflight meals, said a senior FSSAI official.
