Karnataka district tense as Hanuman flag protests spread

Police had resorted to mild lathi-charge on Sunday to disperse a restive crowd after the flag was brought down and replaced with the Tricolour by local authorities in the state. CM Siddaramaiah said the authorities had to intervene as permission was granted only to hoist the national and Kannada flags.
