BJP neta touts ‘circumcision test’ for citizenship seekers, stirs row

IndiaTimes Sunday, 17 March 2024
A recent social media post by BJP leader Tathagata Roy has sparked controversy, suggesting that circumcision should be a determining factor for the religious identity of male applicants seeking citizenship under the CAA. The TMC has criticized the comment as a "vulgar jibe," questioning the BJP's underlying agenda. The CAA aims to provide Indian citizenship to persecuted minorities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan who arrived in India by 2014.
