Supreme Court asks Tamil Nadu governor to induct Ponmudi into state cabinet by Friday

The Supreme Court on Thursady directed TN Governor R N Ravi to decide on reinducting K Ponmudi into the state cabinet by Friday. The Court questioned the Governor's refusal to appoint Ponmudi despite his conviction being temporarily stayed. Ravi rejected the Chief Minister's recommendation, citing concerns over Ponmudi's corruption charges. Ponmudi's conviction was stayed by the Supreme Court in March.
