Mukhtar Ansari admitted to hospital in UP's Banda

Gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari was hospitalised at Uttar Pradesh's Banda Medical College due to deteriorating health while serving a life sentence in Banda jail. His son, Umar Ansari, shared on social media that Mukhtar has been moved to the ICU at the medical college. Tight security is in place at the hospital. Ansari, a five-time MLA from Mau, contested the 2017 Assembly polls.
