Congress faces Rs 1,823 crore in new Income Tax demands, accuses BJP of 'tax terrorism'

Congress Party has revealed receiving fresh income tax notices amounting to Rs 1,823.08 crore, condemning the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for what they term as "tax terrorism" aimed at weakening the opposition financially ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Congress treasurer Ajay Maken, accompanied by general secretary Jairam Ramesh, accused the BJP of substantial income tax transgressions, implying that the BJP should itself be liable for demands surpassing Rs 4,600 crore for these violations.
