Hills hot up: Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, J&K face record heatwave conditions this summer

Himalayan states Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir are experiencing record-breaking temperatures this May. Dehradun hit 43°C, matching its 2012 record, with temperatures exceeding 40°C for eight days. Jammu & Kashmir saw Srinagar reach 32.7°C, the highest in a decade, and Qazigund hit 34°C, an all-time high for May. Himachal Pradesh also faced extreme heat, with Shimla at 31.7°C, the highest since 2012, and Sundernagar over 40°C.
