Annual two-month fishing ban begins in Goa

Goa's two-month fishing ban started Saturday, prohibiting mechanized fishing until July 31 to allow fish breeding during the monsoon. Fisheries Minister Nilkant Halarnkar confirmed that 800 trawlers have returned to jetties in Cutbona, Vasco, Malim, Caisuva, Cortalim, and Talpona. Authorities will enforce strict monitoring to ensure compliance with the ban.
