IIT Kharagpur student Faizan Ahmed was “shot in the neck, stabbed and hit in the chest with a heavy weapon”, an external forensics expert appointed by Calcutta high court told a special investigating team (SIT) probing the Assam boy’s death, strengthening his parents’ suspicion that their son didn’t die by suicide. Faizan, a third-year mechanical engineering student, was found dead in a room at Lala Lajpat Rai Hostel on October 14, 2022. The room — C-205 — was not his.
