Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed that the Bangladesh-origin minority community predominantly voted for the Congress in the recent 18th Lok Sabha elections, disregarding the developmental work done by the BJP. Sarma accused this community of being the only one in Assam engaging in communalism and alleged that despite lacking basic infrastructure, they consistently vote for Congress. Despite these challenges, Sarma highlighted the BJP and its allies' significant victory, winning 92 out of 126 assembly segments
