NEET: Bihar police summon students, say proof of leak
Saturday, 15 June 2024 Bihar Police sent notices on Saturday to students in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Bihar to join the investigation into alleged malpractice in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-Undergraduate) and said they had evidence that the exam papers were leaked. The police notices come amid nationwide protests and govt efforts to allay fears that NEET papers were leaked.

In a significant development in the NEET UG exam controversy, six individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. The accused were taken from LNJP Hospital, Patna after their medical examination, following their arrest by Bihar Police in Jharkhand's Deoghar on June 21. The marking scheme of the National Testing Agency (NTA) led to nationwide protests and forced the NTA to clarify the distribution of wrong papers to 1563 candidates and torn OMR sheets at six centers. In a devastating road accident today, at least 18 people lost their lives and many others were injured after the bus they were travelling in collided with another vehicle in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. Among the deceased were three women and one child, police reported. The double-decker bus, which was en route from Bihar’s Sitamarhi to Delhi, crashed into a milk tanker from behind on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway early this morning. The force of the collision was immense, causing several passengers to be flung out of the bus, police stated.
