Army doctor turns saviour for ill man onboard Chandigarh-bound flight
Tuesday, 18 June 2024 Major Simrat Rajdeep Singh, a medical officer with the Western Command Hospital, Chandimandir, saved the life of a critically ill 27-year-old onboard a Pune-Chandigarh flight. He resuscitated the patient, administered emergency drugs, and arranged for an emergency landing in Mumbai, where the patient received urgent medical care and emergency dialysis.
The 25th anniversary of the Kargil War is commemorated by a motorcycle expedition undertaken by 12 coursemates of Captain Vikram Batra, alumni of the Indian Military Academy's 101 Regular Course. Departing from Chandigarh, they pay homage to fallen comrades and heroes who served during the conflict, symbolising the sacrifices made to protect national sovereignty. On Day 2, the expedition reached Udhampur. Traversing the rugged Kargil terrain, their journey echoes the battles fought and lives lost in defence of the nation, highlighting the invaluable contributions of India's armed forces.
