Raid on Chhattisgarh Naxal hideout unearths fake currency racket

Apart from fake notes of Rs 50, Rs 100, Rs 200 and Rs 500 denomination, two guns and a cache of explosives were also seized. Sukma SP Kiran Chavan said Maoists were circulating fake currency through weekly village markets in the interior regions of Bastar to "destabilize the economy". A joint force of CRPF, District Reserve Guards, Bastar Fighters and district police raided the place and recovered a huge quantity of fake notes, colour printers and 200 bottles of ink, said SP Chavan.
