Raid on Chhattisgarh Naxal hideout unearths fake currency racket
Monday, 24 June 2024 Apart from fake notes of Rs 50, Rs 100, Rs 200 and Rs 500 denomination, two guns and a cache of explosives were also seized. Sukma SP Kiran Chavan said Maoists were circulating fake currency through weekly village markets in the interior regions of Bastar to "destabilize the economy". A joint force of CRPF, District Reserve Guards, Bastar Fighters and district police raided the place and recovered a huge quantity of fake notes, colour printers and 200 bottles of ink, said SP Chavan.
Several district authorities and security forces in Manipur's Jiribam district on Thursday facilitated a peace meeting between the Meitei and Hmar (part of the Kuki-Chin-Zo group) communities. During the βpeace meetβ, both communities agreed to work towards restoring normalcy and preventing incidents of arson and gunfire in the district. Leaders from Meitei and Hmar groups signed a resolution agreeing to a peace meeting held at the CRPF camp in the Cachar district.
