4.5 years after launch, just 7% of vacant houses allotted to migrant workers under affordable rental scheme

The Affordable Rental Housing Complex (ARHC) scheme, launched in 2020 to house migrant workers, has seen limited success. Only 5,648 vacant government-funded houses, less than 7% of the target, have been allotted. While 82,273 ARHC units have been sanctioned, primarily in Tamil Nadu, many states, including Maharashtra and Delhi, haven't converted any existing vacant houses for the scheme.
