'Whip 6 times, not wear shoes till ...': K Annamalai's dramatic protest against DMK over student assault case
Thursday, 26 December 2024 Tamil NaduBJP president K Annamalai pledged to boycott footwear until the DMK government is ousted, after the sexual harassment case at Anna University. He announced a personal protest, including self-whipping and fasting, amid ongoing demonstrations led by the BJP and AIADMK accusing the DMK of suppressing dissent.
The controversy over Hindi in Tamil Nadu is escalating. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin stated on Wednesday that his party would not oppose the Hindi language as long as it is not forcibly imposed on Tamil Nadu and Tamils, compromising their self-respect. However, he made it clear that if Hindi is forced upon them, the DMK will strongly oppose it.
