Lakhs of chicken die in Andhra Pradesh, bird flu suspected

Suspected bird flu or Ranikhet has caused heavy poultry mortality in East Godavari, Eluru, and West Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh. The animal husbandry department is on high alert with samples sent for testing. Migratory birds likely transmitted the infection, resulting in over four lakh fowl deaths.
