Ranya Rao gold smuggling case: Karnataka govt orders probe into ‘misuse’ of protocol service at airport
Tuesday, 11 March 2025 Home Minister G Parameshwara announced an inquiry into the alleged misuse of police protocol services at Kempegowda International Airport following accusations of involvement in a gold smuggling racket. This comes after Sandalwood actor Ranya Rao, daughter of a top police official, was caught with 14.2kg of gold at the airport. The issue was heatedly debated in the legislative assembly.
