Tuesday, 26 September 2023 The speaker of Canada's House of Commons, Anthony Rota, has resigned after inviting a man who fought for a Nazi military unit to Parliament. Rota introduced Yaroslav Hunka, a 98-year-old war veteran, as a hero during a speech by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. However, it was later revealed that Hunka fought for the Waffen-SS Galicia Division, a unit under the command of the Nazis.
