UN warns Gaza fuel shortage will stop aid work by end of day

The main UN aid agency in Gaza is at risk of halting operations due to a lack of fuel, as Hamas reports a surge in the death toll from Israeli strikes. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has drawn international concern, as supplies of water, food, and medicine are cut off by Israel. The UN chief, Antonio Guterres, has called for an end to the collective punishment of Gaza's 2.4 million people. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vows to "eliminate Hamas" as the death toll in Gaza rises to over 6,500. Violence has also escalated in the West Bank.
