2 policemen killed in terrorist attack in restive northwest Pakistan

Armed militants attacked an oil and gas company in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, resulting in the death of two policemen and injuries to three others. The attack took place in the Dera Ismail Khan district near the South Waziristan tribal district. Police have launched a search operation to apprehend the attackers. This incident comes amid a surge in violence in Pakistan. In August alone, Pakistan witnessed the highest number of attacks in a single month since November 2014.
