Israel bombs south Gaza after Hamas hostage threat

IndiaTimes Monday, 11 December 2023
The heavy urban battles in Gaza continue, with the death toll rising to 101 Israeli soldiers and around 18,000 Palestinians. Hamas warns that the remaining 137 hostages won't survive unless Israel meets its demands and releases more Palestinian prisoners. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declares that it is the end of Hamas and calls on them to surrender. The fighting is concentrated in southern Gaza, but there are also reports of deadly fighting in central and northern urban areas. The UN General Assembly is set to discuss the dire situation in Gaza, and the US rejects a ceasefire.
