Russia dismisses Wall Street Journal's 'pulp fiction' after Prigozhin death report

IndiaTimes Friday, 22 December 2023
The Kremlin accuses the Wall Street Journal of publishing "pulp fiction" after reporting that Yevgeny Prigozhin's death in a plane crash was orchestrated by Nikolai Patrushev. Prigozhin, head of the Wagner mercenary group, had a feud with the defence establishment and died in a plane crash. The Kremlin denies that Prigozhin was killed on Putin's orders. The WSJ report states that Prigozhin's private jet was downed by a small bomb. Patrushev, a former head of the FSB security service, is considered one of Putin's influential advisers.
