China's coast guard took control measures against Philippine vessels that illegally intruded into disputed waters near Renai Reef and Second Thomas Shoal in the South China Sea. A resupply mission is underway for troops stationed at a grounded warship. China claims sovereignty over most of the South China Sea, despite a 2016 ruling that its claims have no legal basis.
