US' Florida on high alert as Hurricane Helene approaches
Monday, 23 September 2024 Florida's Gulf Coast and Panhandle are on alert as Tropical Storm Nine strengthens into a potential hurricane. Governor Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency for 41 counties to facilitate preparations. The National Hurricane Center warns of dangerous rip currents, storm surges, damaging winds, and heavy rainfall beginning Wednesday. Residents should make emergency plans and know their evacuation zones.
