‘Stop blame game and act’: 9-year old activist protests against Delhi pollution

9-year-old climate and environment activist Licypriya Kangujam protested against the bad air quality and pollution in Delhi and called on politicians to stop blaming each other and start acting.

She was protesting at the Vijay Chowk area of the national capital.

The nine-year-old, who has earlier addressed the United Nations Climate Conference 2019, said that children cannot even move out of their homes due to the toxic air in the capital.

I want our leaders to take action to fight air pollution.

They are busy blaming each other instead of finding a solution.

No action is being taken,’ the activist said.

She urged politicians to not play politics over the issue and come up with a proper long term solution to tackle the menace of pollution.

The activist’s plea to the government comes at a time when Delhi’s air quality has been in the poor category.

The Delhi government and the Centre are also engaged in a blame game over the issue.
