Scores of farmers held a tractor march at Chandigarh-Punjab border against Centre's new farm laws.
Protesting farmers, camped at border areas of the national capital, have confirmed their tractor parade on Republic Day, in order to build up pressure on the government.
Farmers have been protesting for nearly two months with the agenda of seeing the new farm laws being scrapped, however, multiple meetings with the government have failed to produce any result.
Manu Bhaker, the recent Olympic medalist, met with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, expressing gratitude and satisfaction. Bhaker appreciated Mann's strong interest in sports. She continues to meet with opposition leaders but has not yet confirmed a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The encounter with CM Mann highlights her ongoing engagement with key political figures following her achievement at the Olympics.
