Chakka Jam: No road blockade in UP, Uttarakhand tomorrow, says Rakesh Tikait
There will be no road blockade in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand on February 06, and roads will be blocked in rest parts of the country excluding Delhi, informed Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) Spokesperson Rakesh Tikait on February 05.
He said, "There will be no road blockade in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand tomorrow; roads will be blocked in rest parts of the country excluding Delhi.
The reason is that they can be called to Delhi any time, so they are kept on standby." Protesting farmer unions are readying for a nationwide 'chakka jam' on February 6 against the new farm laws.
Recent bypolls across seven Indian states resulted in significant gains for the opposition INDIA bloc, which won 10 out of 13 assembly seats. The Congress party secured victories in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, while the Trinamool Congress swept all four seats in West Bengal. The BJP won two seats, including one in Madhya Pradesh. In a devastating road accident today, at least 18 people lost their lives and many others were injured after the bus they were travelling in collided with another vehicle in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. Among the deceased were three women and one child, police reported. The double-decker bus, which was en route from Bihar’s Sitamarhi to Delhi, crashed into a milk tanker from behind on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway early this morning.
