Less than a year after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Rajkot International Airport (RIA) at Hirasar village, a section of the roof canopy in the terminal’s passenger drop and pickup area collapsed following heavy rain on Saturday. Fortunately, no injuries were reported and airport operations were not affected. This incident follows a similar roof collapse at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport after record rainfall. The temporary terminal, still under construction, experienced a canopy failure due to water accumulation. RIA officials are conducting an inquiry and will submit a detailed report to the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

Ranchi: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren was granted bail by the High Court in a land scam case, leading to his release from jail this morning. The court found that, prima facie, Soren is not guilty and is unlikely to commit another offense while on bail. His counsel, Arunabh Chowdhury, confirmed the bail was granted on a bond of â‚ą50,000 and two sureties of the same amount each. Soren, leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on January 31 on money laundering charges related to the acquisition of 8.86 acres of land in Ranchi. The court's decision followed earlier setbacks for Soren, including bail denials by both the Ranchi special court and the High Court, and the Supreme Court's refusal of interim bail. Soren has consistently denied the charges, accusing the ruling BJP of framing him to derail the opposition. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story
