Unable to connect with 12-13 villages: Disaster Mitigation and Management on Chamoli disaster

Uttarakhand Disaster Mitigation and Management, Executive Director Piyoosh Rautela informed that connection with around 12-13 villages have been disrupted after the bridge was washed away due to the glacier burst calamity.

Piyoosh Rautela said, "We've not been able to connect with 12-13 villages after the bridge was washed away.

So we are making necessary arrangements like ration, water, electricity for them.

Soon we will also set-up a temporary bridge.

We just know that tunnel is 2.5 km long and 30-35 workers inside got stuck.

SDRF, police, ITPB, Army and Navy divers are removing the debris to find those stuck inside the tunnel."
