Watch: Indo-US joint military exercise 'Yudh Abhyas' concludes in Bikaner
The closing ceremony of the joint military exercise between the Indian and US Army, ‘Yudh Abhyas’ was held at Mahajan Field Firing Range at Rajasthan’s Bikaner.
This was the 16th edition of the joint exercise and it began on February 8.
The aim of the exercise was to focus on counter terrorism operations under the mandate of the United Nations.
The training focused primarily on subject matter exchange of topical issues of contemporary significance, drills at tactical level and sharing of best practices of each other.
“As professional soldiers, this exercise has provided us excellent opportunity of understanding each other’s weapon systems, equipment platforms, battle procedures, better inter-operability and best operational practices, ”said Indian Army’s Brigadier Mukesh Bhalwala.
Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, along with fellow ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Dharmendra Pradhan, participated in the ‘Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Samman’ padyatra program on November 25. The event marks the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution and aims to promote awareness about constitutional rights. Mandaviya also planted saplings to honor the contributions of women members of the Constituent Assembly. The campaign, which has seen regional events like the Bikaner inauguration by the Chief Justice of India, continues to spread awareness about legal rights and constitutional duties. The event also launched the Samvidhan Katta magazine and a special comic book showcasing beneficiaries of legal aid programs.

Tragedy struck in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Tuesday evening when an Indian Army vehicle plunged into a 300-feet gorge along the Line of Control (LoC), resulting in the deaths of five soldiers. The incident occurred when the Army vehicle, belonging to the 11 Maratha Light Infantry, was en route from Nilam headquarters to Balnoi Ghora Post. The vehicle fell into the gorge, leaving 10 soldiers, including the driver, severely injured.
