Al-Badr chief killed in Sopore encounter: Kashmir IGP
While addressing a press conference in Srinagar on March 10, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar spoke on Sopore encounter which took place on March 09.
IGP Kumar said, "We have received information that 2 terrorists managed to escape while cordon was being laid.
Ganie Khwaja went for training to Pakistan in 2000 and returned to India in 2002.
He was active for 5 years in Baramulla, North Kashmir.
He was arrested by police in 2007 and was jailed." "He was released in 2008.
From 2008-December 2017 he worked as an overground worker for militants.
In January 2018, he became active again.
After August 2019, he left HM and became chief of Al-Badr," he added.
