Captain Manoj Pandey had led multiple attacks during 'Operation Vijay'.
He assisted in capture of Khalubar, before he succumbed to his injures.

In a heartfelt tribute to the valour and sacrifice of the Indian Army, a commemorative bike rally was organised from the Old Kargil Memorial to Randhawa Top (Point 13620) on 02 July 2024. This significant event marks the 25th anniversary, or Rajat Jayanti of Kargil Vijay Diwas, celebrating India's momentous victory over Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil War. The rally was organised by the Indian Army in collaboration with SAEL and NGO Pawan Prithvi Paani.
The event commenced with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Old Kargil Memorial by the chief guest, Brigadier Prateek Prashar honouring the brave soldiers who gave their lives for the nation while defending Kargil from 1947-48. This memorial is a solemn tribute to the valiant soldiers who fought and sacrificed their lives during the Kargil War in 1947-48. The memorial features plaques and inscriptions that detail the heroic deeds of the soldiers in all four battles fought with Pakistan since 1947-48.

In a devastating road accident today, at least 18 people lost their lives and many others were injured after the bus they were travelling in collided with another vehicle in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. Among the deceased were three women and one child, police reported. The double-decker bus, which was en route from Biharβs Sitamarhi to Delhi, crashed into a milk tanker from behind on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway early this morning. The force of the collision was immense, causing several passengers to be flung out of the bus, police stated.
