If elected to power, won't implement CAA: Manmohan Singh
Former prime minister Manmohan Singh urged people to vote for the Congress party and Mahajath in the upcoming state assembly elections, starting today.
Highlighting the 5 major promises from the manifesto, Manmohan Singh assured that if elected to power, Assam Congress will not implement the Citizen Amendment Act and will try their very best to repeal it.
"We will provide jobs to 5 lakh unemployed youth in public sector and 25 lakh unemployed youth will be provided job in private sector.
Daily wage of tree plantation workers will be increased to Rs 365, these workers will also receive other social benefits.
Every household will receive upto 200 units of free electricity," said former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh highlighting the other promises made by the Assam Congress for the upcoming elections.
In a strongly worded letter to Punjab voters, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of using “hateful, unparliamentary terms to target either a specific section of society or the opposition.” Singh's letter comes ahead of the seventh phase of the Lok Sabha polls scheduled for June 1, urging voters to protect democracy and the Constitution from what he describes as a despotic regime attempting to impose dictatorship in India. Singh criticised Modi for indulging in what he called the most vicious form of hate speeches, which he deemed purely divisive. He accused Modi of lowering the dignity of public discourse and the office of the prime minister.

In a recent address in Bokaro, Jharkhand, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government, stating that 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty in the last nine years. Singh contrasted this with the previous promises made by former leaders like Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, and Dr. Manmohan Singh, claiming they failed to eradicate poverty despite their pledges. Singh's remarks underscore the BJP's emphasis on economic progress and poverty alleviation under PM Modi's leadership. Watch the full speech and analysis on Oneindia.
