Watch: Punjab cop kicks vegetable vendor’s basket; suspended

A Station House Officer in Punjab has been suspended after a video showing him kicking a vegetable basket of a street vendor went viral on social media.

Navdeep Singh, SHO (City) Phagwara, was seen damaging the property of a street side vegetable vendor.

Punjab police have now not only suspended the policeman but also initiated departmental enquiry against him.

The officers of Kapurthala Police have contributed from their salaries to provide compensation to the vegetable vendor.

The Punjab government had ordered the closure of all shops not selling essential commodities till May 15.
