A dog was rescued after spending two days at the bottom of a well in Karnataka, western India.

Locals informed the police of the dog after attempting to rescue the pooch themselves.

Locals informed the police of the dog after attempting to rescue the pooch themselves.

Officers led by a team of firefighters used ropes to lift the dog from out of the pit in Udupi.

The dog did not suffer from any injuries.
