Liz Truss has described the blame she received over her mini-budget as "pathetic." Ms Truss was forced to stand down as prime minister in 2022 when her "mini budget" triggered a market meltdown. Speaking on stage at the Conservatives conference in Birmingham, the former prime minister said: "How on earth can we move forward as a country if people can't actually talk about the facts but instead throw insults around? I just think that's pathetic." Report by Kennedyl. Like us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/itn and follow us on Twitter at http://twitter.com/itn

A notable cultural engagement saw Putin and Khurelsukh participating in a choreography lesson with local students. The visit, which concluded with a gala reception celebrating the 85th anniversary of the victory at Khalkhin Gol, occurred under the shadow of international scrutiny due to the ICC arrest warrant against Putin for alleged war crimes. Mongolia's decision to welcome Russian President Vladimir Putin, despite an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant against him, has sparked international controversy and diplomatic tension. The visit, which marks Putin's first trip to an ICC member state since the warrant was issued, has put Mongolia in a difficult position. The ICC had issued the warrant in March 2023, accusing Putin of war crimes related to the unlawful deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia. As a member of the ICC since 2002, Mongolia is obligated under the Rome Statute to arrest individuals subject to ICC warrants. However, the country opted to honor Putin with a guard of honour, defying its legal obligations and raising concerns among international legal experts and human rights advocates.
