After Russia claims 'Dirty Bomb', IAEA inspectors to visit nuclear sites in Ukraine | Oneindia News
Inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency will, very soon, be visiting two sites in Ukraine.
The inspectors will examine the sites for signs of "undeclared nuclear activities".And this development comes after the Russian claim that Ukraine is reportedly planning to use ''dirty bombs at these sites.
Kyiv has denied any such allegations and has agreed to the UN's request to let the inspections happen.
However, up until this moment the location or the names of the sites have not been disclosed.
Ealier, the IAEA said it had received an invitation from the Ukrainian government to carry out "verification activities" at two unspecified locations, adding that the agency's inspectors already have been visiting both sites regularly.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned Israel of proportional retaliation for any attack, particularly on nuclear sites, while reaffirming Iran’s commitment to the NPT. He criticized Israeli destabilization efforts and urged the IAEA to maintain a technical, non-political approach. Araghchi discussed limited prospects for reviving the JCPOA and emphasized Iran’s readiness for negotiation or confrontation. Regional trips showcased Iran’s support for resistance groups and countered anti-Iran propaganda amid Israeli threats.
