NFL great Tom Brady becomes part owner of Birmingham City

Former NFL quarterback Tom Brady has become a minority owner of EFL Championship football club Birmingham City.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion has partnered with the club’s holding company Knighthead Capital Management LLC, and becomes chairman of a new advisory board.

The 46-year-old former New England Patriot and Tampa Bay Buccaneer is not the first sports star or celebrity to get involved in football clubs.

Former Manchester United and England midfielder David Beckham is co-owner and president of Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami, whilst actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought EFL League Two side Wrexham AFC in 2020.
